ESTRELLA companies start working towards the new ISO 9001:2015 standard
January 20th 2017, Santiago, Dominican Republic.- The launch of “The Transition Train” campaign marked the start of the preparatory phases for the amendments to the new ISO 9001:2015 standard, which will conclude with an audit for the certification of the Ingeniería ESTRELLA, ConcreDom, Cemento PA¬NAM and North West Industries companies.
The process leaders provided information on the stages of the work plan that will be carried out in order to complete this transition: change management, process analysis, and establishing improvement, along with monitoring and measurement, all of which will finalize the authorization audit.
“The Transition Train” is the process which will lead the companies that make up Grupo ESTRELLA to the ISO 9001:2015 certification, which establishes an alignment of quality objectives and processes with the companies’ business strategies. This will be achieved within a framework that incorporates risk management as a prevention measure in the organization.
The ISO quality standards became part of the ESTRELLA business family in 2005 when ConcreDom certified its cement production, followed by Ingeniería ESTRELLA in 2008 and NWI in 2010. Since then, we have been adapting our production systems to the changes in the 2008 and 2015 versions of the regulation.
ESTRELLA’s culture is based on corporate values that, as well as reflecting staff behavior, are the essence of a business model based on excellence and the individual and collective development of its workforce. Quality is our number one value, which includes teamwork, innovation and organization.
About Standard ISO 9001
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a global federation of national standardization bodies (ISO member organizations). The task of preparing international standards is usually carried out by the ISO technical committees.
ISO 9001 (this International Standard) specified requisites that are mainly geared toward cultivating trust in the products and services provided by an organization and thus toward increasing customer satisfaction. Its correct implementation also contributes to granting additional benefits to the organization, such as improving internal communications and optimizing management and control of organizational processes.
This fifth edition annuls and replaces the fourth version (Standard ISO 9001:2008), which has been technically amended through the adoption of a series of amended chapters and the adaptation of the amended quality management principles and new concepts. It also annuls and replaces the ISO 9001:2008/Cor.1:2009 Technical Corrigendum.
