ESTRELLA members light up the Tree of Gratitude
November 24th 2016. -Santiago, Dominican Republic.- To the sound of children’s voices singing Christmas carols, a large group of staff members from the ESTRELLA group of companies assembled to give thanks for the experiences of the year that is about to end. As part of the event, they turned on the Christmas tree lights that illuminate the facade of the corporate building in Santiago, a ten-year old tradition.
“We all have a lot of things to be grateful for: on the personal front, for health, for life, for friendship, and especially for our business: for the blessings we’ve enjoyed this year”, stated Manuel Estrella, president of the group’s Administrative Board, while addressing hundreds of members of the companies that he heads.
Human Resources manager Jeaune Marie Badía encouraged everyone present to reflect on their achievements and goals and symbolically place them on the Tree of Gratitude. A second tree to remind us that regardless of time, space or circumstances, there are many reasons to give thanks.
The central event for switching on the Christmas tree lights was held at the Acero Estrella production plant in Santiago, and was followed by several other events to welcome the beginning of the season at the Cemento PANAM factory in San Pedro de Macorís, at the Santo Domingo offices and in the company’s camps in Haiti.
“I’m very happy with our work team, the productive apparatus we’ve been building, and with the dedication you have all shown the company. We will remember this year as a year when we have learned a lot, where we are going to improve many of the things that we do,” said Manuel Estrella to those present.
Estrella added that this is a season for stopping and taking stock, with the arrival of the New Year and the Christmas season, to carry out an internal analysis that helps us grow.
